Yes, it’s true — I’m a delinquent blog poster. If there is a prize to be had for the longest time elapsed between blog posts, I must be in the running (it’s been about 11 months since I last posted). This doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing anything! But it may mean that I haven’t been doing anything terribly scintillating.
It has, however, been a very nice year. Some highlights:
*Last year’s June release of MISCHIEF BY MOONLIGHT, the final book in my Mischief series.
*A trip to Santa Fe and the Grand Canyon with my family. I’d never been to that part of the country, and it’s so beautiful there, every day was a delight. Even driving hours in the car with my teens was a joy, because they were so distracted by the natural beauty, they forgot to bicker.
*Taking up yoga. Okay, I only do it once a week, and my down dog is not exactly all lines and angles, but I do show up regularly, and it’s definitely helping unkink my hips. I know we’re not supposed to sit anymore because sitting is the new smoking, but can’t a girl have any vices? I can’t think while standing, so that doesn’t work out too well for writing. And there’s nothing I love better than curling up with a book.
*Joining a book club. I may be the last middle-aged suburban American woman to join a book club, but now I have done it. So far, we’ve read THE PARIS WIFE, which I loved, and THE SUN ALSO RISES (which I didn’t love, though I appreciate it as art). Now we’re reading Sue Monk Kidd’s THE INVENTION OF WINGS, which is excellent.
*Working on my new series! THE BEAUTIFUL ONE releases on June 2, and I’ve been hard at work on the next book in the series, HOW TO HANDLE A SCANDAL. Writing is fun, but wow, it takes me a long time to write a book.
Have you done anything new over the last year?
